Return Policy

Thank you for your purchase. We hope you are happy with your purchase. However, if you received a product due to our error in shipping, the item you ordered is defective or damaged,  you might be able to return it to us for a refund or store credit. Under no other conditions do we accept unauthorized returns. Please see below for more information on our return policy.

DEFECTIVE AND DAMAGED PRODUCT

Defective or damaged products are only eligible for return if a shipment's packaging is not damaged.    Otherwise claims must be made against the shipment carrier based on upon their claims policy.  See Shipping Policy for more information.

Products are deemed defective if they do not perform as the manufacturer intended.   This does not include omissions regarding published or included product specifications, content, or instructions.   All claims for products warrantied by the manufacturer must be made directly with the manufacturer.

DYE LOTS AND COLOR VARIATIONS

The colors of products that appear on your screen may not be the exact color of the real product due to different pixel sizes of monitors. The pictures are as accurate as possible, but should only be considered a guideline.

All yarns are dyed in small batches and may vary slightly even within a dye lot. Because of this, dye lots will vary from samples and lighting will also influence shading differences. These slight color variations from one dye lot to another is normal and is not considered a Manufacturing Defect or a basis for a return and/or exchange.

RETURNS

Returns cannot be requested by a 3rd party and all authorized returns must be requested and postmarked within twenty (20) days of the purchase date.  All returned items must be in be in new and unused condition, with all original tags and labels attached.

RETURN PROCESS

To return an item, please email customer service at shop@theknitstudio.com to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. After receiving a RMA number, place the item securely in its original packaging and include your proof of purchase, and mail your return to the following address:

Please note, you will be responsible for all return shipping charges. We strongly recommend that you use a trackable method to mail your return.  Eligible Products  received without a RMA will be charged the full restocking fee.

SHIPPING CHARGES

Refunds do not include shipping charges unless we determine the return was the result of our error in shipping, defect, or damaged product.  

We will issue a store credit to compensate customers whose returns are due to our error in shipping, defect, or damaged product.   The store credit will be equal to the shipping charges for the item when the order was placed, or if only returning a portion of the order, the credit will be adjusted to reflect only those charges that would have been incurred if purchasing the item separately.

REFUNDS PROCESSING

After receiving your return and inspecting the condition of your item, we will process your return.   

Please allow at least ten (10) days from the receipt of your item to process your return. We will notify you by email when your return has been processed.  

Returns due to our error in shipping are eligible for a refund, otherwise a store credit will be authorized.

Returns deemed ineligible may be returned to the customer at their request and expense.

RETURNS EXCEPTIONS

The following items cannot be returned for any reason:

  • Patterns
  • Magazines
  • Books
  • Liquidation or Final Sale items.

REFUNDS EXCEPTIONS

The amount of any refund will be adjusted in the event of the following:

  • A 50% restocking fee will be charged for all returns not in original or sellable condition, as well as those returns without a RMA number.
  • Discounted or Sale items are FINAL SALE and cannot be returned.
  • Accompanying items (straps, buttons, etc.) must be included
  • Customer supplied packaging must be sufficient to prevent product damage
  • Defects/Damages noted by the customer at the time of return must be indicated on the proof of purchase along with the RMA number
